In 1965, Seiko introduced its first ever diver’s watch. This also happened to be the first Japanese diver’s watch. With its robust case and its highly recognizable design the 1965 Seiko 62MAS paved the way for multiple generations of professional dive watches to come. The 62MAS had an automatic movement and 150m of water resistance, this paved Seiko's path to becoming one of the world's most respected dive watch manufacturers.
For the 55th anniversary of Seikos 62MAS they launched the SLA037 (limited to 1100 pieces). This being very similar to the 2017 release of the SLA017 (limited to 2000 pieces). The main differences from the SLA017 being the upgraded hi-beat 5Hz calibre 8L55 from the 4Hz 8L35 calibre, ever-brilliant steel and a beautiful blue dial.
